Dr. Mandana Nikoui
Dr. Mandana Nikoui received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1992 from the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis, in France. Upon graduation, she was admitted to the Pediatric Dentistry program at the University of Montreal and successfully completed a two year residency program at Ste-Justine Hospital for Children in 1995.
While practicing in Toronto in a pediatric dental clinic, Dr. Nikoui continued her studies and research and obtained a Master of Science degree in the field of dental traumatology from University of Toronto in affiliation with the Hospital for Sick Children. Shortly after, Dr. Nikoui moved to Ottawa with her family where she opened her practice dedicated to “kids and teens”.
Since 2000, Dr. Nikoui has been staff pediatric dentist at the Children’s Hospital for Eastern Ontario. She is also a fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and an active member of the American and Canadian Academy of Pediatric dentistry, Canadian Dental Association and the Ontario Dental Association. She continues to attend numerous continuing education seminars each year to keep her in the forefront of Pediatric Dentistry.
In her spare time, Dr. Nikoui loves to paint, play the piano and bake. Dr. Nikoui is also a true cat lover!
Dr. Christine Corbeil
Dr. Corbeil obtained her Doctorate of Dental Medicine at l'Université de Montréal in 1997. Passionate about working with children, having been a camp councilor every summer since her mid-teens, she completed a two-year Specialty in Pediatric Dentistry and residency program with Ste-Justine's Hospital for Children in 1999.
Dr. Corbeil moved to Ottawa in 2003 to join Dr. Nikoui's new clinic dedicated to kids and teens, after four years practicing in a private pediatric dentistry clinic in Montreal. Dr. Corbeil also practices at the Centre Hospitalier de la Vallée des Outaouais.
She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, and has been an Examiner for the pediatric specialty since 2000. She is a member of the American and Canadian Academies of Pediatric Dentistry, the Ottawa and Outaouais Dental Societies and other dental associations, actively pursuing continuing education to provide her patients with the best treatments available.
Dr. Corbeil enjoys visiting friends in different cities and experiencing different cuisines and cultures. She is a devoted mother, an enthusiastic rabbit-lover and a feisty football player.
Dr. Martine Nicopoulos
Dr. Nicopoulos, is also a Specialist in Pediatric Dentistry. She received her doctorate in dental surgery from McGill University in 2000 after completing a bachelor's degree in biochemistry at Université du Québec à Montréal. She then moved to Charlotte, North Carolina for 2 years to complete a General Practice Residency at Carolinas Medical Center.
While she was down south, Dr. Nicopoulos recognized her passion for treating children and decided to pursue her specialty at Sainte-Justine Hospital in Montreal. She obtained her Master of Science in Pediatric Dentistry from the Université de Montréal in September of 2005. She has since moved to Ottawa to join the team of Kids and Teens Dentistry.
She is an active member of the Canadian and American Academies of Pediatric Dentistry and a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. She also attends numerous continuing education courses across North America to keep up with the ever evolving field of Pediatric Dentistry.
In her spare time, Dr. Nicopoulos loves to swim and ride her bike. She, along with her husband, love to travel, especially when it involves a visit to the beach.
Dr. Elsa Hui-Derksen
Dr. Hui-Derksen obtained her dental degree from the University of Manitoba in 2002. Her love for children and the rewards of building a life long relationship with children inspired her to pursue a career in pediatric dentistry. After practicing for several years, she started a graduate program in pediatric dentistry at the University of Michigan in July of 2005.
Dr. Hui-Derksen obtained her Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry, as well as her Masters of Science, at the University of Michigan in 2007. She is a fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.
In her spare time, you can see Dr. Hui-Derksen running, hiking, and enjoying the outdoors.
Jenny
Office administrator
Jenny grew up in Toronto and moved to Ottawa 7 years ago. She graduated with a Dental Assisting Diploma and then went on to obtain Level II Dental Assisting at Western University in London. She recently joined our team this summer but is no stranger to the dental profession, having over 10 years experience. Other than her experience in pediatric dentistry, she has also worked extensively in orthodontics and in general practice as a treatment coordinator. Jenny strives to serve all of our families with a focus on parent satisfaction. Her enthusiasm for the pediatric specialty is evident in the way she cares for children and people in general. In her spare time, Jenny enjoys spending time with her son who like herself is an avid hockey fan...GO SENS GO! She also participates in yoga, enjoys reading and spending time with friends and family.
Isabelle
Office Administrator
Isabelle is originally from Northern Ontario, and graduated from Cambrian College in 2000. She then moved to Ottawa and started working as a Level II Dental Assistant. Isabelle joined Kids & Teens Dentistry as an office administrator. She is bilingual in both French and English and is happy to welcome patients in either official language. Isabelle enjoys working with children and looks forward to having her own family someday. For now she is happy to sit back, laugh and be entertained by the children who do visit the practice. In her downtime, her hobbies include touch football, basketball, jogging and spending time with her family.
Shannon
Dental Hygienist
Shannon was born and raised in Renfrew, a small town west of Ottawa. She graduated from Algonquin College in 2000 with certification in dental assisting and a diploma in dental hygiene. Since then she has been a member of the Canadian Dental Hygiene Association and the Ontario Dental Hygiene Association keeping apprised of the ever changing and evolving profession of Dental Hygiene. Shannon regularly attends dental education seminars to ensure that her knowledge is current and her skills are “polished”, no pun intended. She has been working as a hygienist for 6 years. In this time, Shannon has developed an excellent understanding of the impact of early orthodontics on children’s health and appearance. This is one of her many focuses as a hygienist and inspires her here at Kids & Teens Dentistry. Shannon is excited to be part of such a diverse dental team and shares in the enthusiasm of being an integral part of your child’s dental health. When Shannon is not at the office, she spends her spare time boating and swimming, and when those wonderful Canadian winters are upon us, she enjoys skiing.
Kimberly
Office administrator
Kim has over 20 years of dental experience primarily in pediatric dentistry. After graduating in 1986 with honours from Career Canada College as a Certified Dental Assistant, Kim joined one of the busiest pediatric dental offices in Toronto. Since moving back to Ottawa in 2001, she has continued her career exclusively in pediatric dentistry with Dr. Nikoui. Kim is well known for her patience, sincerity and efficiency. With a genuine concern for children, she provides the special care and attention that our patients deserve. As a mother of three girls, Kim's interest in their well being including their oral health has made her concerned for other children. Kim participates in many seminars and courses on pediatric dentistry to constantly upgrade her skills on new products and procedures. With her great experience and warm personality, Kim is an integral part of the team at Kids & Teens Dentistry.
Linda
Preventive Dental Assistant Level II
Linda is originally from Magog, a small town in Quebec.She graduated in 1994 as a dental hygienist and have worked several years in Quebec and Halifax. In 2003, she moved to Ottawa and joined Kids & Teens dentistry.Her genuine care and soft spoken personality help all children feel relaxed and comfortable at our office. She is happy to work with a dedicated and dynamic team who all share the same passion and interest in pediatric dentistry. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, golfing and dancing.
Kailee
Preventive Dental Assistant Level II
She graduated from CDI College with honours. Kailee is very passionate about her work and loves working with children. With her great smile and sense of humor, she does all her best to make sure children are having an enjoyable and pleasant experience. In her spare time, Kailee is a sport enthusiast. She enjoys the outdoors; camping, biking and most of all being with family and friends.
Krista
Dental Hygienist
Krista was born and raised in Ottawa. As a dental hygienist who loves working with kids and teens, Krista is a great addition to our dynamic and dedicated team. With a genuine concern for children, she provides the special care and attention that our patients deserve. When she is not at work, Krista devotes her time with family, friends and her two pets.
